Professor Nalepa (Dubspot, 1320 Records)
Los Angeles-based Steve Nalepa is a producer, composer, DJ, professor and mad scientist collector revered in avant-garde circles for his studio alchemy and genre bending. He’s produced tracks with such legends as Bill Laswell and Pharoah Sanders, performed with the LA Philharamonic at Walt Disney Concert Hall, and shared the stage with some of the most revered electronic musicians and video artists in the world. He’s energized crowds at festivals internationally including Glade, Decibel, Secret Garden Party and Coachella. Nalepa is one of 100 artists featured in the acclaimed Visionaire 53: Sound, his song “Flatlands” joining original pieces from David Byrne, U2, Danger Mouse, The Beastie Boys and more on five 12” vinyl record picture discs packaged with a portable record player inside a specially produced domed case. Nalepa is considered a key node in the West Coast audiovisual scene, known for his vast and eclectic array of artistic collaborators, cultivated through years of producing
multimedia events. Working with M-Audio and Ableton, Nalepa provided VIP support and software training for a multitude of high-profile artists. As a teacher, he’s nurtured and mentored a number of today’s rising stars while being the behind the scenes support for a number of top DJs and producers. His EPs and triple album Flatlands are available from 1320 Records, the original compositions accompanied by a collection of music videos and remixes by an all-star cast of luminaries. When he’s not in the lab or rocking international dancefloors, Nalepa can be found teaching the Ableton Live online courses that he designed for Dubspot.

FuzZ (Rabbit Records, 1320 Records, Spectrophonic Sound)

In that time he’s put out releases on 1320 Records, Spectrophonic Sound, and his own brand new label, Rabbit Records, founded with his friend, Andrew Swanson, aka St Andrew. In his spare time, David composes for Squeak E Clean Productions, a commercial house based in Los Angeles, and is a free lance studio engineer and producer. In the last year, David has scored international commercials for Blackberry, Volvo, and Caribe, and has collaborated with artists such as Sam Speigal (NASA, Maximum Hedrum), Stunnaman (the Pack), Posso the DJ, Dj Hoff, Pase Rock, and several others.See More
